my filipino mom

i'm often asked to do my "mom impression" with my filipino accent. why, you ask? she is one of the funniest people on earth. she makes me laugh almost every time i see her. that wasn't always the case. we've had some issues in the past, but not because she didn't love me unconditionally. she has always been there through good and bad. i don't know what i would do without her. she is my hero. she has sacrificed so much in her life to give me and my brother everything we might want. she's worked in factories and in retail for years to give us a future, an education. i will never be able to pay her back for all she has given. and in some of the toughest moments of my life, all i needed was to hear her voice and the touch of her hand to make me feel okay. a filipino mom is unlike ever other mom on earth, but i would not trade mine for any other. i love you, mom. happy mother's day.
